Fleshy Colours and First Steps

Okay, I cancelled some of my other purchases (thanks Phantek for saying that you had a case for me, taking my money for a couple months and never sending anything?) And am moving up the timeline for some of this project.

First off I think that I am going to make a decision about the first unit I purchase and how I am going to make some of the painting decisions. My first thought was to buy a box of acolytes and sort out the flesh, carapace and clothing colours. I am still on this thought but I am going to check what's in stock at Sentry Box (my FLGS) and go from there. It could also be that I buy a box of something cheaper (I don't know 5 Cadians) and just test some paint on them.

The colours I am most interested in testing is the tan flesh to a deep red-black-brown in splotches or leopard spot transition into the carapace. I know that that sentence is a mess so when I get the first sets of this stuff done I will start sharing actual pictures from my progress. I am still very into that weird lion/leopard picture from a few days ago.

I am still struggling on how to integrate the wasteland raider/western theme. I think those will come out best in the vehicles. I want this to play up the Rusted Claw nomad aspects. Again all of this is still up in the air until I actually get to modeling/painting.

Also, I am still trying to get a name I like. Tri-Star Children comes to mind. I mean if this is a cult that is worshipped for having a Mister Rogers like Magus I want Fred to really have a friendly name for his cult. Not something that is like...hyper obvious. Maybe I should do some Wikipedia deep dives into cults.

I am playing some Kill Team tonight and still have a giant Nagash 1/3 finished on the bench. So that might move aside for this project. Just for now. Nagash is for D&D and will be done before the encounter as we haven't even made it into the Tomb of Annihilation. My Kill Teams are all a joke so we'll have to see how that all plays out. I might include some pics tomorrow.
